Please bring your seeds in labeled envelopes with as much info as possible. It is OK if you do not have any seeds to bring, we just ask you consider a monetary donation instead. All proceeds will go to our food security initiatives. This is our first seed swap so it will be a small event. Parking at the CYC is very limited so aim to use transit or walk from a nearby municipal parking lot.

QBSS is a very popular, well attended event and is among the first “seedy saturday” events in the country. Other activities include the ever popular Seed Swap, door prizes and two 50/50 draws, expert gardening advice from Master Gardeners and the Seedy Cafe to keep you nourished. There will also be a Town of Qualicum Beach truck on site to collect unwanted pesticides and herbicides.

Presentations include "seed starting" (and starting new plants from cuttings), "How you can help save the monarchs", "growing native plants", "growing and care of hydrangeas".
There will be door prizes, a bake sale, local vendors and of course plenty of seeds to purchase. We encourage gardeners to grow a row for the hungry and to grow seedlings for the local food banks, community gardens and schools.
Our local food bank is a recipient of money raised at this event.

Hosted by the Okanagan Master Gardeners the Kelowna Seedy Sunday is a full day event focused on buying, trading and sharing locally grown seeds and plants. The event is filled with both Vendors selling garden related products and Exhibitors displaying information and opportunities available to all Kelowna and Okanagan based garden enthusiasts. Along with the vendors the Master Gardeners run a Children's program and host multiple workshops during the day. Come for the products and a whole host of information. Entrance fee is $2.00 per adult (cash only), children are free. The Okanagan Master Gardeners run a free Seed Swap table and we hope to have our regular vendor, the City of Kelowna Landfill with their free bag of compost. Come get a head start on spring, find products, seeds and information vital to growing in the Okanagan.

Seeds available will include annuals, perennials, biennials, vegetables, shrubs, and trees. Steve's Special Surprise (oops, sorry Steve, I just let the cat out of the bag) is seeds to make your very own rock and crevice garden!
